Creating Expressive Rug Pads

by on Jun.02, 2010, under Trade Leads

With the addition of a rug pad, that friction and wear and tear is slowed down, thus extending the life of your rug. Obviously this is like RugPads.org. When it comes down to it, the rug pad that is used is just as important as what you see on the surface. This may seem like a silly question, but if you have just spent a load of money on a very expensive hand-knotted Oriental Rug, the last thing you want to do is drop a few hundred more on a rug pad that no-one will ever see.

Adding a rug pad under any area rug will increase the comfort that area rug provides. Over time, dirt drops down between the holes to lie underneath your rug. But has little, or nothing, to do with area rug pads usually. After all, once your rug is in place there is no possible way to determine with 100 percent accuracy as to if the right pad was used.

Replacing wall-to-wall carpet is expensive and very time consuming. When vacuuming your rug, having your rug held off the floor will bring air underneath your rug, helping your vacuum be more efficient and your rug looking great. This is similar to carpet rug pads frequently. There is nothing worse than a rug that is not laying flush on the ground.

Another great thing about rug pads is the fact that they help prevent bacteria from building up in your home. While safety and protecting your rug are the most important reasons to invest in a good quality rug pad, there are a number of other reasons. Finally, a quality pad will also make your rug more comfortable to walk on.

Rug pads do a terrific job of holding area rugs of any sort: seagrass, shag rugs, sisal rugs, wool rugs, jute rugs, even bamboo rugs-any type of area you can imagine, a rug pad can help secure. Once you’ve selected the type most suitable for your floor, you have to measure your rug carefully. It is better to be safe than sorry. The benefits of rug pads far exceed the inexpensive price of acquiring them as they are very affordable.
